Ride the old banana-railway train from La Ceiba, then glide through the mangrove channels by boat with a local community guide from Unión el Porvenir — keep an eye out for monkeys, birds, caimans, turtles, and, with luck, the shy manatee. Includes an interpretive guide, refuge entrance, and a taste of local food along the way.
