It leaves every Wednesday, the shuttle costs $130 per person, and in under 20 hours you are in Belize. Here is how the route works, what the price covers and what to have ready for the border.
The route, step by step
- La Ceiba to Puerto Barrios, Guatemala. Our shuttle leaves La Ceiba on Wednesday and crosses the Honduras and Guatemala border to Puerto Barrios on the Caribbean coast.
- Boat via Livingston. From the Guatemalan coast you continue by boat through Livingston.
- Arrive in Punta Gorda. You land in Punta Gorda, the gateway to southern Belize, in under 20 hours from La Ceiba.
What it costs and what is included
The shuttle costs $130 per person. That price covers the shuttle only. The boat ticket to Punta Gorda is paid separately, and so are any border and exit fees along the way. Plan to carry some cash for those on the day.
Border note: bring your passport
This trip crosses two borders: Honduras into Guatemala, then Guatemala into Belize. Bring a valid passport, and check the entry requirements for your nationality before you travel. Border and exit fees are not included in the shuttle fare, so nobody should be surprised at the dock.
Where to go after Punta Gorda
Punta Gorda is the start of your Belize trip, not the end. From there you can continue on to Placencia for its beaches or up to Belize City and beyond.
